Press Release
New distribution agreement brings turnkey OpenDrives solutions to market faster, simplifying access for resellers and users.
Los Angeles, CA – October 21, 2025 — OpenDrives, Inc, a leading provider of software-defined data storage and data services, today announced a new distribution partnership with Versatile Distribution Services (VDS) to strengthen its channel ecosystem and streamline how its performance-driven Atlas data storage and management solutions reach the market.
The collaboration combines OpenDrives’ software-defined storage expertise with VDS’ experience as a full-service technology distributor and systems integrator in logistics, staging, and channel-enablement capabilities, improving the overall sales process and broadening opportunities to get Atlas in front of more resellers and customers.
”Our new agreement with VDS significantly changes the way that we bring our data storage solutions to market,” said OpenDrives’ COO Trevor Morgan. “OpenDrives’ focus and expertise is on the software aspects of these solutions. With their proven hardware distribution capabilities, VDS enables us to match our software with a wide range of hardware options, and as such, provides our partners and customers with just-in-time acquisition of those platforms. We can now offer a much-simplified purchasing process so that our partners and customers can focus on what really matters: managing and benefitting from their expansive corporate data.”
Channel partners can now source OpenDrives’ certified Atlas hardware architectures, which include Eos and Ceres, directly through VDS. This will simplify procurement, shorten lead times, and ensure increased sales and higher customer satisfaction. Customers get faster access to the award-winning Atlas software, along with OpenDrives’ renowned world-class customer support. Resellers benefit from streamlined quoting, fulfillment, and support processes that make it easier to deliver OpenDrives solutions to users. Download the Atlas fact sheet to learn more.
“Our partnership with OpenDrives makes it easier for channel partners to deliver enterprise-grade storage without the usual complexity,” said Amy Wade, VP of Sales, VDS. “By combining OpenDrives’ software-defined Atlas platform with our integration and fulfillment expertise, we’re giving resellers access to pre-configured systems that are tested and ready to deploy.”
Atlas is OpenDrives’ flagship software-defined data storage and management platform designed for high-bandwidth, low-latency workflows across media and entertainment and ancillary enterprise environments. Built on principles of composability and cost predictability, Atlas allows customers to scale capacity and performance independently, thanks to its unique unlimited capacity licensing model, where you pay only for the features you need. With OpenDrives’ new Eos and Ceres hardware architectures, customers have the freedom to choose beyond the company’s portfolio Ultra Hardware Platform, which Atlas system works best for their budget and for their evolving workflow needs. For example, customers who intend to scale out beyond Atlas’ current scale-up capabilities can do so with OpenDrives’ latest product, the Astraeus cloud-native data services platform, which just recently soft-launched in October 2025.
OpenDrives and VDS will showcase their collaboration at the NAB Show New York at the VDS Booth # 249. Continuing the conversation around data innovation, OpenDrives’ Head of Market Programs and Revenue, Jason Matousek, will also participate in a panel discussion alongside Walter Viegas of Key Code Media and Eivind Sandstrand of Aurora Borealis Consulting. The session, “Who Will Win in the Data Storage Battle: Cloud Versus On-Premises?”, will explore evolving strategies for hybrid data storage and data services.
